Please plan to join us on Tuesday, December 6 for the Annual RCTV/WXIR Open House!
Come and mingle, snack and listen to music when we open the doors at 5:30. The welcome and financial snapshot of the year will take place right at 6 PM, then Richard McCullough will kick off hosting our live on-air Open House Party. You won’t want to miss our live musical performances by local entertainers, the words of wisdom from City Officials, and awards for the year’s best TV and radio producers. One of our guests is Ghana Afropop musician, Jay Baba, whose work Ayefor Dondoo was produced by PrezDoe Beatz. Jay will be performing live.
And this year, we invite YOU to get involved!
If you would like to deliver a holiday message to the community, come prepared to sing (bring a karaoke track to sing to either on your phone or a CD), rap, play an instrument, recite a poem, dance a little soft shoe, or share your spoken word in the studio. These messages will be edited and played on both RCTV and WXIR for the rest of the month, sharing your holiday message of cheer with the community!
At 7:30 PM, join us in the studio for a Kazoo Holiday Hum Along that we’ll record and broadcast in December. And you get to keep the kazoo to serenade your holiday guests!
As a special part of this year’s event, we are collecting food for the Baden Street food cupboard! Please consider bringing a non-perishable can or box of food to donate. We will be collecting between Monday, November 28 and Thursday, December 15 to help fill the cupboard for families in need. Everyone who brings a donation will receive extra raffle tickets for a chance to win a WXIR bag of assorted goodies!
So mark your calendar to join us at 21 Gorham Street, off St. Paul Street from 5:30 to 7:30 for RCTV’s and WXIR’s exciting and interactive Open House!
P.S. Please feel free to bring the kids. We’ll have a special craft area set up for them to enjoy!
