For the past three years, RCTV has given a “Best Editing Award” at the screening of Rochester Movie Makers’ Mind2Movie Filmmaking Challenge. The RCTV team who screened this year’s submissions agreed that it gets harder and harder to pick the team to win the “Best Editing” prize because production value has ratcheted up higher and higher each year.
Mind2Movie is an annual filmmaking challenge where, on a Thursday evening, teams of movie makers randomly draw a prop, a character and a situation that they must use in their film. In a short 72 hour – on Sunday evening by 7 PM – they are required to turn in a completed film in order to compete.
Last week, RCTV screened the submissions, and we were duly impressed. This year’s entries include close to 20 short films of 5 minutes or less that cover the gamut from drama and comedy to animation and horror.
Join us at 7 PM (box office opens at 6:15) on Monday evening, February 9, at the Cinema Theater, located at 957 South Clinton Avenue (at the Corner of Goodman) where you can see what creativity emerges when a group of innovative filmmakers are pushed to the limit!
There is a $5 fee to attend this film festival, and it is open to the public.
